Football is for girls too! This Girl Can celebrates the women who are doing their thing no matter how they do it, how they look or even how sweaty they get...
You can find your football playing 5-a-side, futsal or 11-a-side, either indoors or outside. Or you can have an impromptu kick-about with your mates in your local park.
Here are some of the opportunities and people to help you get involved in girls and women’s football in Nottingham:
- Nottinghamshire Girls and Ladies League – Girls and ladies league affiliated to the FA with divisions supporting all ages.
- Visit the women and girls webpages on the Nottinghamshire FA website.
- Find a local team to play for on the Nottinghamshire FA website.
- Attend the FA Girls Festival on Monday 6 April at Nottingham Trent University, with various activities going on throughout the day including face painting, hair braiding and football drills.
Come to the FA Fanzone Saturday 2 May 2015 for free fun activities and interactive football drills prior to Notts County Ladies WSL fixture.

- Get involved in the Female Footy Fives at Rushcliffe Leisure Centre on Monday evenings. They run a weekly five-a-side league for females aged 16+. You can enter with your own team or just turn up and join a team on the night with other individuals. Katie Gibson (Organiser) says “There has never been a better time to get involved with women’s football! The league is great for those who don’t want their weekends taken up and those who want to get fit the fun way! This Girl Can is a national campaign developed by Sport England and a wide range of partnership organisations. It's a celebration of active women up and down the country who are doing their thing no matter how well they do it, how they look or how red their face gets.
