Last week Nottingham Forest Ladies spread the Mother’s Day love with Whitemoor Academy at the school’s Celebratory Mother’s Day lunch event, the City of Football went along to check out what it was all about…
Event organiser Paul Curtis, Fundraising Co-Ordinator for Nottingham Forest Ladies and parent of a pupil at Whitemoor instigated the idea to help give pupils and guardians alike the chance to mix with senior members of Forest Ladies over Lunch. It was welcomed by Head Teacher, Judi O’Leary who had been promoting the event with parents leading up to the day.
The pupils were then given the chance to be mascots at Forest Ladies home game on Mothering Sunday’s match vs opponents Swindon Town.
The event is always a popular one for Whitemoor Academy with three full sittings for all age groups which gifted the chance for the pupils to have their Mum’s, carers and guardians present to join them over lunch and enjoy some well-cooked fayre.
Nottingham Forest Ladies players and staff mixed with all and chatted over different topics and even had interest from some to look at playing the game going forward.
Elizabeta Ejupi, 1st team player for Forest said: “Everyone engaged over lunch and we had some good conversations ranging from football to favourite singers and school subjects. It was great to be a part of and we hope it helped give something different to a special day.”
