The Beautiful Game

If the thought of bracing the Baltic temperatures in nothing but a shiny pair of shorts and shin pads sets your teeth more than slightly on edge, but you’re still well up for dipping your toe in the football puddle, then clear the Friday night schedule, and pop down to Nottingham Playhouse.

Nottingham based dance company, Next Door Dance, are bringing the ball sport to you in the form of their original production The Beautiful Game. Four fabulously talented, incredibly witty and extremely fit women are using the medium of theatre to bring the game of football to life. After sending a call to action from their Facebook page, the company are delivering their show laden with anecdotes from you lot. A proper Notts affair.

There’ll also be a score of catchy tunes and the backdrop of famous commentary, along which the women are hoping to take audience members on a footballing journey that’ll scream nostalgia to fans, and prove a gentle nudge into the world of football for newbies.

You can catch the performance in the Neville Studio at Nottingham Playhouse, on Friday 8 January for just a fiver. There are two shows at both 5pm and 7.30pm.
