Frame Football: The Facts

29 January 2016

If you use walking or gait training equipment such as a frame or a walker, and want to get involved with football, then frame football might just be the sport for you.

The Frame Football Association are on a mission to set up as many Frame Football teams across the country as possible, and give every child who uses a frame the same opportunity. Nottingham is one step ahead of the game, and is already developing its own frame footie army, with the Hucknall Rolls Royce Leisure Frame Football Team.

Cerebral Palsy Sport have designed, developed and trialled Frame Football with loads of feedback from coaches, equipment specialists, physiotherapists, parents and the players themselves, to create a truly player centred football opportunity. Supported by the Football Association’s Disability Committee as a grassroots development programme, Frame Football is already gaining recognition as an inclusive adapted sport.

Anyone aged between 3-18 can play. The Hucknall team play on an equipment-appropriate artificial pitch, but during the winter, players are training indoors at Kimberley Leisure Centre. If you’re interested in joining the team, or know someone who might be, or you’re interested in sponsoring the team, drop Jamie Broughton an email at jamie.broughton@rrleisure.co.uk or phone Caroline Scothern on 07840412553.
