We’re hosting a whole load of activities for you to get involved in this Light Night. Read on for all the information you’ll need…
February can be a gloomy month. The excitement of Christmas has burnt out, the festive decorations have been taken down, and your bank balance has definitely seen better days.
Our lovely council are on hand to brighten our month with their annual Light Night event, and this year, we’re getting involved too.
Join us in Market Square for an evening of football trickery, LED assault courses and bright lights.
World record holding football freestyler Dan Magness will be wowing us with his keepie-uppie skills, fully decked out in an LED tracksuit and shoes. Not only that, but his football will be glowing, too.
You can get involved with soccersise – an introduction to the world of football with fun, free and easy exercises for you to get stuck in with. If you’re already well into football, and fancy yourself a bit of a bright spark on the pitch, you can get involved with our five aside light up football, in which you’ll don light up bibs and play an eight minute match.
We’ll also have an LED assault course on site for you to show off your skills. The person who completes the course in the fastest time’ll win a City of Football prize… Oo-er.
Ex-Friendly, the Truth and Lies supremo will be providing the soundtrack to the evening, along with a mighty cracking visuals video set from Homes of Football photographer, Stuart Roy Clarke.
Once you’ve caught up with all the action in Market Square, head over to Nottingham Contemporary for more City of Football goodness.
If you missed Dan Magness in the square, you can catch him again outside the gallery. Pop inside to have your photo taken with the European Cup, as won by Forest in 1979 and 1980.
You’ll also have the chance to meet the director of I Believe in Miracles, Jonny Owen, and a host of players from Forest’s double European Cup winning team. Get your team photo right here, right now.
Not only that, Nottingham’s resident Soulbuggin’ DJ, DJ Beane will be spinning the decks in the café bar, playing only the best in funk and soul from Forest’s champion era. It’ll be a right throwback.
